Manawatu Horowhenua & Tararua Diabetes Trust was established in 2000 with prime responsibility being introduction and management of the Free Annual “Get Checked” Review for all persons diagnosed with Diabetes.

In October 2007 this responsibility was passed onto the Manawatu PHO however in the period between establishment and this handover the Trust had become involved in numerous other areas in which it continues today.
